I began writing The Kahler Files after I developed a severe illness. I was afraid that physical disability would make it impossible for me to continue working as a physician. Writing fiction became plan-B, an alternative method of supporting my young family. Fortunately, the illness resolved, but by then I had become hooked on writing. Each morning I would climb out of bed an hour or two earlier than required by my work schedule and spend those morning hours writing. One novel followed another, and eventually The Kahler Files series grew to five novels.
