Geoffrey Jones was born in Birmingham in Britain. After teaching at Cambridge and Reading universities, and at the London School of Economics, he moved to the United States to become the Isidor Straus Professor of Business History at the Harvard Business School. His recent books include Beauty Imagined, which explores the globalization of the beauty industry over the last two centuries and Profits and Sustainability, which provides the first history of green entrepreneurship from the nineteenth century until the present day. His most recent book is Deeply Responsible Business. A Global History of Values-Driven Leaders. At the Harvard Business School, Jones co-directs the Creating Emerging Markets project, which is assembling a large database of oral history interviews with business leaders based in Africa, Asia, Latin America and the Middle East. He is a Fellow of the Academy of International Business, a Corresponding Fellow of the British Academy, and a Fellow of the Royal Historical Society. He lives outside Boston in Massachusetts.
