Heidi Gessner, MDiv, BCC, is an ordained United Church of Christ Minister, grief support coach, and end-of-life professional. Pockets of Grace: Lessons from Darkness, Lessons from Light is her first book. A former palliative-care and bereavement chaplain in a level one trauma center for nearly 20 years, Heidi offered emotional, spiritual, and grief support to patients, their families, staff, and the larger community. Heidi developed the University of North Carolina Hospitals Bereavement Support Services to promote healthy grieving through programming, educational resources, and follow-up with families. She facilitated grief support groups and writing workshops for caregivers and individuals living with uncertainty due to illness and loss. Heidi's taken all the lessons from Pockets of Grace and created a signature system, Indigo Flow: Path to a New Beginning, which supports those wrestling with loss.
