As a child, Jennifer Strickland won “Most Potential Model” and “Miss Photogenic” in her hometown of San Diego, CA. At 17, she signed a contract with the iconic modeling agent Nina Blanchard, who named her “The Face of the ‘90s.” Jennifer went on to work as a professional model in Hollywood, New York, Seattle, and Miami. She lived and worked in Milan, Italy; Munich, Germany; Sydney, Australia, Auckland, New Zealand; Athens, Greece; and Paris, France as a runway, print, and commercial model. Featured in Vogue, Glamour, and Cosmopolitan, Jennifer went on to walk the runway for Giorgio Armani in Milan and represented Barbie for the 35th anniversary of the doll. But she discovered image is not always as real and pretty as it looks. While doing the runway in Milan, she was taken advantage of by a photographer and became fed up with a business that distorts real beauty and objectifies young women. Suffering from anorexia, contemplating suicide, and using drugs in an effort to numb the pain, Jennifer cried out to God to show himself to her. In a series of miraculous interventions recorded in her first book Girl Perfect, Jennifer’s prayers were answered. After 15 years working as a model, she found faith in Christ and left the business to find an authentic life. Jennifer took the money she made modeling and earned her Master’s degree in Writing and Literature. Her gripping story told in Girl Perfect, the Girl Perfect Study Guide, and the Girl Perfect docudrama has helped women around the world discover their true value in God’s eyes. As a TEDx speaker and keynote at Saddleback, Willow Creek, Prestonwood Baptist, and more than 100 venues, helping women realize the power of discovering their real identity.
