Joey Centanni is a Division 1 baseball coach at the University of the Pacific. Centanni has chosen a career in collegiate coaching because he truly appreciates the direct positive change he can have in these young men’s lives. Centanni has his undergraduate degree in Communications from the University of the Pacific where he currently coaches. While playing Minor League Baseball in the Baltimore Orioles organization, he began and eventually completed a Master’s Degree in Organizational Management. His strength in communicating with people and helping them find positivity is an attribute that is not easily learned. Centanni learned how to relate to different types of people throughout his educational years, but also found ways to teach more effectively while taking credential courses at San Diego Christian College. Growing up in San Diego, CA gave Centanni a chance to experience year-round exceptional weather. This enabled him to play outdoor sports for twelve months of the year. He did not simply just play while he was growing up; he always had a strong connection to his coaches and wanted to learn why they did certain things. Centanni had always known once his playing days were over that he would be coaching at some capacity. He has a wonderful wife, Julie, who received an undergraduate degree in Psychology from Virginia Tech. She then proceeded to receive a Master’s degree in Exercise Science from the University of the Pacific. Centanni truly feels that with the information that he has studied, along with many of his life experiences, that he can help people better their daily lives after reading this book.
