Recent Video Production: "The Holy Land" Our Daily Bread Films "Histories Greatest Mysteries" The History Channel Beck earned his PhD in theology (Hebrew and Old Testament) from Trinity International University in 1997. In the years that followed, he has taught courses in Hebrew, Old Testament, and geography of the Holy Land at various colleges and universities. He is currently an independent scholar and freelance writer living in Germantown, Wisconsin. However he seems most in his element walking the backcountry of the Holy Land pointing out various species of plants, talking about impact of topography on culture, and giving insights into familiar Bible stories which had eluded long-time Bible readers. He spends a portion of each year teaching in Israel for Jerusalem University College as well as offering seminars throughout the United States and the world, speaking on the value of cultural-geographical literacy for Bible readers.
