I first developed tinnitus when I was 16. It took me a couple of weeks to realise that it was a noise generated inside my head. By the time I was 34 it had turned into a raging siren that kept me awake and stopped me from holding down a job, and made my life a misery. A friend of the family suggested trying craniosacral therapy. I had never heard of if, but after the first session I felt incredibly slow and relaxed and couldn't stop laughing. My tinnitus changed and went a bit quieter. Before I knew it I was training as a craniosacral therapist myself and six months later my tinnitus stopped and went quiet for the first time in 33 years. I set up practice as a craniosacral therapist and then went through an awakening of sorts, feeling the more subtile energetic movements inside and around the body. I went on to qualify as a Core Process Psychotherapist, A Buddhist and body-based form of Psychotherapy which helps you drop out of the endless chit chat of the mind and connect with the direct experience of presence. This extraordinary work has opened the mind to experiences I never would have dreamt possible. I have helped over 1000 people with tinnitus improve or let go of symptoms. I work with clients via Skype all over the world and have had my books on tinnitus translated into several languages. I have an app called https://www.quietenapp.com where I provide lots of help and support on-line. My aim is to help health practitioners learn that telling people their is no cure is not only wrong, but causes great damage. My work guides people on to a path that helps let go of this suffering. You can find my videos on You Tube by entering Julian Cowan Hill, and my books are available on Amazon in ebook form and, in some languages, in printed form. I really enjoy helping people get better. Being a therapist is a deeply rewarding profession and am very grateful to all my clients for being such great teachers.
