I am a retired academic who came to fiction writing later in life than most authors. When I retired I completed a Creative Writing course that led to Red Dirt Odyssey. I wrote that book while living in a caravan in the Kimberley town of Kununurra. However, The Blooming of Alison Brennan was waiting inside me. It draws on some of my experiences as a secondary school teacher, and my interest in the global effects of the Second World War. Nineteen Days came next, and it is a drama set on a cruise ship travelling from Sydney to Honolulu. I live in Melbourne but love to travel.
