I am an author and former Washington Post business reporter who since 2013 is a full-time faculty member at Johns Hopkins University's Carey Business School, specializing in financial crises and economic history. In addition to teaching I continue as a journalist, including as a contributor to the Washington Post. My third book, on why banks fail, is an Audible Original book and bill be available in March.I have finished the first draft of my fourth book, for W.W. Norton, on corporate governance, with a focus on what CEOs do and how the role has evolved since it emerged in the 19th century during the industrial revolution.
