Katie McCleary is the coauthor of “Bridge the Gap: Breakthrough Communication Tools to Transform Work Relationships from Challenging to Collaborative.” Her work has appeared in Inc. Magazine, Forbes, ComputerWorld, PBS, and more. She is the host of NPR CapRadio’s leadership podcast, “The Drive,” in partnership with The American Leadership Forum-MV chapter. McCleary is an accomplished public speaker, offering engaging and interactive speeches to business communities, and the social sector (education, nonprofits, and government). She speaks about leadership, neuroscience, communication, collaboration, curiosity, trust and respect, listening, decision-making. She energizes professionals to become "Bridge Builders" at work, home, and in community using Bridge the Gap's Curious Conversations and Wayfinding tools. She is a certified Amherst Writers and Artists’ national facilitator, having taught over 10,000 people—from-lawmakers, educators, and entrepreneurs to foster kids, juvenile-justice involved teens, and incarcerated men, the power of story to fuel meaningful change. Katie earned an MFA in writing and consciousness, serves on the school board of Visions in Education, is a trustee for Studio T Urban Arts and Entertainment, and a member of the advisory committee for the College of Arts and Sciences and for the Masters in Nonprofit Leadership program at Pacific University. She lives with her partner, 2 kids, and a menagerie of feathered and furry animals in Fair Oaks, California.
