Katina Rankin is an Emmy-nominated journalist. She is author, most recently, of the children’s civil rights series Emmett Till, Medgar Evers and James Meredith. Her book, The Peace Drum based on Kofi Annan, was turned into a documentary and aired on television stations across Ghana, Africa. She founded Katina’s Klassroom (www.katinasklassroom.com), a 501(c)3 established to improve reading skills for elementary and middle school students in underserved areas. She is a native of Magee, Mississippi and currently resides in Memphis, Tennessee.
