L.R. Walters has been a dog trainer, early childhood educator, and lawyer. She began writing Patchwork after spending an entire childhood reading psychological thrillers and being disappointed that they never focused on the characters she found most interesting. A talent for imagining the absolute worst case scenario is one of the things she is most proud of. When not writing, she is often staring into space and thinking about writing. Other times, though, she can be found walking in the woods with her dog, catching Broadway shows on tour, and trying to track down the best dumplings in Raleigh.
