Laura LaBarge, now Thompson, grew up in a small town in the northeast. She has been reading and writing short stories since the young age of six. “I am lucky to still have the active imagination that I had as a child, only now I express it in my writing.” In 2007 after not writing for many years because ‘life’ got in the way, Laura picked up a laptop after reading a fantasy series and began writing her own fantasy series Elven Quest. Elven Quest is now published under her married name Laura E. Thompson. She never stopped writing. “Writing has become an obsession. I am not happy unless I make time to write.” Laura has written seven books in the Elven Quest series and has published three so far. Witches of Tradbeldam is Laura’s first NA fantasy series. There are four written so far and the first, The Secret of Magik and Blood was published in October 2021. The second was published in May 2022 and the third was published in December 2022. In 2019 Laura wrote her YA Freak or Unique series, which she has published under her maiden name L.E. LaBarge. It is her, (mostly true) story about being diagnosed with Epilepsy at twelve years old and how it changed her life. It is meant to bring comfort to those children who feel different, like outsiders, for any reason. Laura wants them to know they are not alone. With all of her writing, Laura says, “I strive to bring characters to life who express courage, maturity, and positivity. There is a lot of negativities in the world. I believe in sharing the positive.” Laura currently resides in the south with her family.
