Lindsey Cole is an adventurer, author and a mermaid. Her journeys include cycling to the South African FIFA World Cup, walking across Australia retracing the Rabbit Proof Fence, and circumnavigating Australia with truck drivers. Closer to home, Lindsey has rollerskated to Bude in a nude suit- because it rhymed; run 300 miles to Manchester playing a ukulele; and swum the length of the River Thames as a mermaid for a plastic awareness campaign- which is when she subsequently rescued ‘that’ cow. Lindsey wrote and illustrated The Mermaid and the Cow, to continue encouraging people to be more environmentally conscious. She visits schools in person and virtually and runs environmental and storytelling workshops. Lindsey is working on a series of mermaid adventure swims with different environmental themes, accompanied with children’s books. She can be found most days in Clevedon Marine Lake or warming up somewhere around Bristol with a cuppa in her hands and her dog sat on her feet.
