Luisa Weiss is an American-Italian food writer based in Berlin. She is the author of My Berlin Kitchen, a food memoir; Classic German Baking, named one of the best baking books of 2016 by the New York Times and the Washington Post; and Classic German Cooking: The Very Best Recipes for Traditional Favorites, from Semmelknödel to Sauerbraten (on sale 10/29/24). She is the founder of the acclaimed food blog The Wednesday Chef and was the food columnist for Harper's Bazaar Germany for four years. Her writing and recipes have been featured in the New York Times, the Wall Street Journal, the Guardian, Cup of Jo, Food52, Serious Eats, Epicurious, Milk Street and Bake from Scratch, among others. Her Substack newsletter is called Letter From Berlin. Weiss lives with her husband and two children in Berlin.
