Luna Carter is an experienced caregiver and the author of Dementia Untangled. Her work is dedicated to providing support and guidance for those caring for loved ones with dementia. Luna’s own caregiving journey started 11 years ago when her mother was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s. She noticed immediately the lack of resources and guidance for caregivers and had no choice but to plow forward, learning from her mistakes and trusting her instincts. Two years into her care for her mother, her aunt was also diagnosed with the disease, and her duty of care expanded. Now, having lost both her mother and her aunt, Luna is committed to sharing her knowledge and experience with other caregivers, aiming to provide the support that she herself found lacking. She leads local support groups, delivers workshops for new carers, and writes books, all of which she has been doing for the last three years. Her goal is to help caregivers navigate their complex role, providing resources, support, and community, and helping them to look after their own well-being alongside that of those they’re caring for. Luna was born and raised in the Midwest, where she now lives with her family and pets. She loves traveling, writing, and spending as much time as she can with her loved ones.
