Luther Mack Born on the beautiful island of Jamaica in the majestic parish of Portland, Luther “Mack” McKenzie is a captivating, charming, and hardworking individual with a creative and dynamic spirit. He is a profound and gifted musician with over 30 years in the industry. Unexpectedly, Luther and his siblings migrated to the USA. He was 10 years old. Fortunately, as a young man, he assimilated into the American culture with ease. With an impounding ability to connect, Luther built a diverse pool of friends during trying times in New York City. Inevitably, being a part of the entertainment scene was inescapable for Luther, as his father, Roy McKenzie, was an event producer in the 60s and 70s; Roy was a very creative individual that inspired his children to embrace their inner ingenuity. When Luther was 14, his father bought him a drum set. He not only taught himself to play the drums, but the piano and the guitar. This path led him to become an avid music producer, and song and short story writer.   Interestingly, at 16, Luther wrote a play for the youth group of the Jamaica Progressive League New York chapter. A realistic comedy that told a story of the culture of West Indian immigrants who migrated to America and their struggles and victories as first generation Jamaicans. The script entitled “Pon de Corner” was a major hit that received rave reviews in the Jamaican Star. Family, deep-rooted culture, and the desire to introduce a creative spin on life’s great experiences motivate Luther Mack’s writing. He is a top performer, who believes that everything he touches should excel in a spirit of excellence; every production, every song, every written work, and every performance.   We quote Luther as saying, “My first novel, ‘The Singing Village,’ is a spiritual tribute to my ancestors.”
