Amanda Parrish (now known as A.M. Parrish in her writing, previously Maddie Marcarelli) has been writing ever since she could pick up a pen. She loves the idea of sci-fi and time travel. The Journey The Only Survivors was an idea that came to her when she was in seventh grade. At nineteen, as a senior in high school, she published the first of the series. In September 2017, she published the second of the series, The Journey The Malevolent Curse. The third and final of this series, The Journey The Terminal Sacrifice, will be published sometime soon.
In November 2018, she published Pain Reconciled by Love. This is a poetic memoir, which holds all poetry she has and had written from age 16 and on. Through three separate parts, she explains that pain is inevitable, reconciliation is resilient, and love is magnificent. It is geared towards those who have felt the worst types of pain (emotional, mental, spiritual, and physical) and didn’t have anything to look forward to, feeling and fearing that death was nearer than they had ever imagined. Soon after moving halfway across the country, alone to Texas from California, to restart and renew her life, and soon after trying to commit suicide, she found the love of her life. She explains how even after going through a trial and tribulation and feeling completely broken and hopeless, she was able to see life and a new perspective. She felt and found the love of The Creator in Heaven, and decided to never give up again on something so precious that was never supposed to end in the first place. Especially because everything that has happened since has become precious and beautiful. Now she has two sons, a daughter, and is married to her best friend. Pain Reconciled by Love was also recently rewritten and updated after Aden, their second son was born in October 2021, but was first published at the end of 2018 after only a year of being in a relationship with her husband, who she married in 2020 after their first son, Travis was born. Their daughter, Trinity, was born in April 2023.
A.M. Parrish is her new author name. A for Amanda (her given first name). M is for Marcarelli (her maiden and family name). Parrish is her married last name.
Amanda is also working on a few fantasy series', as well as a dystopian/post-apocalyptic series. She also plans to write her autobiographical memoir, which will be creative nonfiction, but through all her pain, there will be a definite comedic aspect in The Sound of Stars.
Amanda is a Christian, and though her first series is Christian and geared towards Christianity through time travel, Amanda’s other series’ and books will have an underlying tone for her Heavenly Father. Like Narnia, Lord of the Rings, and several others, the tone will be written in between the lines. Being Christian does not mean she cannot respect all other people’s beliefs and religions. She enjoys hearing people’s views and likes to have a conversation, not a debate. She had to find Christianity on her own and through complete brokenness, even though she was raised in it, she was not a true believer until 2020, after falling away, and learning, studying, and believing in other religions and spiritualities. If you meet her, or know her, or want to know her, ask her what you feel you need to. Amanda loves talking, especially with those who feel like they have nothing, or feel lost and hopeless. She loves listening to people and if she could, she’d speak with love and would enjoy learning everyone’s own personal journey.
Amanda wants to open up a non-profit for orphans and foster kids in the future, which is one reason why she is publishing and wants to publish so many more books.
