Marie-Nathalie Beaudoin, Ph.D. is a clinical psychologist, author, and speaker established in the San Francisco Bay Area. She trains therapists locally and internationally, supervises the counseling in many local schools, and offers individual, couple and family therapy to private clients. Marie-Nathalie started as a cognitive behavioral therapist in the 1990s until she discovered the narrative work of Michael White and David Epston. She became impressed by the effectiveness of therapeutic conversations when people are treated respectfully, dignified and uplifted in their abilities to handle problems sometimes in just a few meetings. Since then, she has continued practicing narrative ideas and enriched the approach with ideas from other fields such as mindfulness, positive psychology and Interpersonal Neurobiology. Marie-Nathalie deeply values meaningful and collaborative conversations which empower people to overcome struggles and help them reconnect with a sense of competency, self-worth and resiliency, even in the face of very challenging experiences. She is well-known for her compassionate approach and ability to bring forth a sense of hope and possibilities in people's lives. Marie-Nathalie has written over 50 well-respected professional journal articles and books, some of which have been translated in French, Spanish and Portuguese. Her work has been featured in a number of magazines such as Educational Leadership, Teaching Tolerance, The California Educator, and AAMFT Family Therapy magazine. Marie-Nathalie’s work was filmed in several professional videos including Narrative therapy & neurobiology: Making changes stick in everyday lives. With a background in improvisational theater, Marie-Nathalie is an acclaimed international speaker with frequent engagements in the USA, Canada, South America, Japan, France, Spain, Portugal and Austria where she is renowned for her warm, engaging and thought provoking presentations on how to help people better their lives and flourish.
