I was The Finalist in the 2017 Georgia Author of the Year Awards in the Romance category for Stumble Stones: A Novel, and the 2018 Georgia Author of the Year Finalist in the Romance Category for The Alibi. I write in a variety of genres, including humorous Women's Fiction; Romantic Suspense/Thrillers; Historical Romance, Fantasy and Cozy Mysteries. I write short stories, have written for anthologies, and I've even written a musical with my sister, Florida artist Sharon Goldman, called Memory Lane about Alzheimer's. Please visit my Web site to find out more about my novels at www.marilynbaron.com. I graduated from The University of Florida in Gainesville, Florida, with a Bachelor of Science in Journalism and a major in Public Relations. Born in Miami, Florida, I live in Roswell, Georgia, with my husband. What's unique about my writing? I try to inject humor into everything I write, from romantic suspense to women's fiction. I like to laugh and I think my readers do too. I tend to feature older heroines, because let's face it, we're not getting any younger. DESTINATION FICTION: While I'm not writing, I enjoy reading, traveling, eating Italian food and hovering over my two daughters and two granddaughters. I studied in Florence, Italy, for six months during my senior year in college and set many of my books in Florence and other places I've visited. Connect with me on: Facebook / Twitter / Goodreads New Release: Blame it on the Moon, released June 21, 2023, from The Wild Rose Press, my 30th work of fiction. Here is a 5+-star review from N.N. Light's Book Heaven. Strange things can happen on a blood moon, as Petra soon discovers. Everything has changed but is this a nightmare or a second chance at life. I can safely say this book is the most original premise I’ve ever read. It had me thinking thoughts I haven’t had since I was in university. Blame it on the Moon is an unputdownable read you’ll finish in one sitting. It starts with the world-building. Marilyn Baron is a prolific author who knows how to create an addictive yet relatable world. She uses words to lure the reader into the world she’s created. It’s such an immersive reading experience. The characters are well-written with emotional tension. I connected with Petra right away. She’s a woman who’s been through a lot and then deals with what happens as a result of the blood moon. Her family has moved on without her. What should she do? This is her dilemma and it’s a realistic one. The other characters are well-drawn and make an impact. The writing is sophisticated and yet has a realistic vibe. Marilyn Baron describes each scene with emotion and accuracy. Her characterization and descriptive narration paint a picture that draws the reader into the story. Once I started reading, I couldn’t stop until the very last page. If you’re looking for an original story, pick up Blame it on the Moon. I strongly recommend this book to all readers. My Rating: 5+ stars
