Meg Castro has lived in North Western New Jersey for most of her life. She attempted to leave the garden state for college but the pull of New York City and the Shore was too much so she returned. She got her BA in History as well as teaching certifications. She will tell you that her brother and father are responsible for exposing her to the world of comics, fantasy, and science fiction. When her brother went off to college he left his comic book collection and books home, so what was a middle school student to do? Meg devoured his comic's (yes for some issues she broke out the white gloves) then moved on to read David Eddings, Tolkien, Brooks, and many others. In High School it was her senior year mythology teacher that told her she had a gift with words. Being an author was always a dream, she wrote poetry throughout middle school to deal with her depression. In high school it was creating her own High Fantasy world to deal with her demons. She never dreamed of actually publishing a book. After teaching for five years and marrying the dork of her dreams, she gave birth to her son. During her time home with him she began to write so not to go crazy. That writing and encouragement from husband led her to publish her first few books. Meg is proud child of the 80's, will argue that Atari and the original Nintendo were the best. She is happily married to a dork named Dave. Her son knows to ask her questions about comics just to make sure that his father answered right. Besides her husband and son, she has Lando the dog, Pepper the black cat, as well as the Droids (the three goldfish- BB8, R2 D2, and C3PO). She still lives in Jersey, preferring the mountains outside her front door to any place else. To check out more from Meg you can follow latest publishing projects at bohlander house press.com.
