Launching her first book on her 16th birthday, Mia Saxena really understands how it feels to be a bullied kid in an environment full of people who aren't listening. Instead of just taking it, she decided to raise her voice and MAKE them listen. A singer, songwriter, artist, author and speaker, Mia decided at an early age that she would follow her passions instead of conforming to everyone else's expectations. At age 16, she has already released her debut album Checkmate and her first book, Dear Bullied Child. However, things weren't always so peachy for Mia. In elementary and middle school, she was bullied severely, and suffered terrible emotional damage from that experience. In time, she learned many valuable lessons about coping with emotional pain and battling bullying; which she shares in her book, Dear Bullied Child. Mia currently attends high school in Virginia, and works on her music alongside of her classwork. She is aspiring to speak to people of all ages, all across the country; to help bullied people cope with their pain and to inform others how to help bullied people.
