Michael is a retired infantryman who served in the Marine Corps, Marine Corps Reserves, and the Army National Guard. He participated in Operation Desert Shield/Desert Storm, Operation Provide Promise/Deny Flight, U.N. Operation Somalia, and Joint Task Force Six as well as two tours for Operation Iraqi Freedom. He also has twenty years of civilian service in defense and intelligence that included roles as the CFO for the Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency as well as a Senior Advisor to the Ministry of Defense in Afghanistan. Michael has a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and an MBA as well as a Master’s degree in National Resource Strategy from The Eisenhower School at National Defense University where he was an Afghanistan/Pakistan Fellow. He is a lifelong martial artist having studied Wing Chun and Tai Chi under Dr. Fred Ming-An Wu. He currently studies Shuai Chiao under Master Nick Masi, a student of Dr. Daniel Chi-hsiu Weng, a top disciple of Grandmaster Chang Tung-Sheng.
