Michelle Sherman PhD LP ABPP (she/her) is a board certified, licensed clinical psychologist who has dedicated her career to supporting families dealing with a mental illness or history of trauma. She was named the American Psychological Association’s Family Psychologist of the Year in 2022, and is the Editor in Chief of the journal, "Couple and Family Psychology: Research and Practice." Michelle has provided individual and couples psychotherapy for over 30 years in numerous settings, including 17 years at a Veterans Affairs (VA) hospital. She has also been an educator and researcher while on faculty with the University of Oklahoma and University of Minnesota medical schools. Michelle enjoys volunteering with the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI), having served on the Board in Oklahoma for 14 years. With her mother, DeAnne Sherman, Michelle writes books for adults and teens who love someone living with mental health problems including PTSD (www.SeedsofHopeBooks).
