Throughout her life, Mimi Kirk’s talents and interpersonal skills brought her into numerous jobs and careers. She had a stint as a Las Vegas showgirl, and was the stand-in for Mary Tyler Moore in the hit sitcom The Mary Tyler Moore Show. She designed clothes and jewelry for Valerie Harper, and invented the popular scarf motif along with the “Rhoda style” for Valerie on the Rhoda television series. Her career in the film industry put her in front of the camera for over seventeen years. Kirk left the industry to open her own national jewelry manufacturing business. Later, becoming Interested in personal growth, she sold her company and became the regional marketing director for a company that delivered self-improvement seminars. She left to study with her Guru in India. Soon after her return she became executive assistant and charity events coordinator for a private family, and sat on the board of several nonprofit organizations in Los Angeles. In 1989, Kirk was the founder, editor, and publisher of an environmental newspaper, The City Planet, in Los Angeles. Adding to her list of many careers, in 1998 Mimi owned and operated Side Saddle, L.L.C. for ten-years where she manufactured cowgirl themed products sold around the world. She is the inventor of four board games including Cowgirls Ride The Trail of Truth, a board game for women 18-118 and authored Cowgirl Spirit. Although she sold her company in 2008, her games and products are still sold worldwide. In August 2009 Mimi won the title of “sexiest vegetarian over 50” in a nation wide contest conducted by PETA. She was the oldest contestant at 70 and won over hundreds of other contestants. She has been interviewed on NBC, KUSI, Fox and appeared on The Doctors, a national TV show. Many newspaper and magazine articles have been written about her as well as many online blogs. She recently authored Eat Raw, Stay Hot with a release date of May 2011. Mimi is passionate about helping others to look and feel their best by eating a plant based raw food vegan diet.
