Necole Belanger served in the Canadian Armed Forces as a Military Police Officer and completed 35 years before retiring. She became the second woman in Canadian history to achieve the rank of Command Chief Warrant Officer in 2019 when she was appointed as the Command Chief Warrant Officer for the Canadian Forces Intelligence Command. Belanger's debut novel Pride amid Prejudice is raw and emotional. She exposes us to her family trauma and her experience in the closet is powerful. She breaks the fourth wall to confront potential skeptics and turn the wrong belief that being gay is a choice back to them. This memoir will bring you along for a portion of the ride that has been her life from girl to woman and from soldier to Command CWO...and it's a rough one!
