I love to write and publish books which help people learn. I published my first paperback book Low Vision Support in 2016 which was dedicated to help persons with low vision learn about what low vision is and where to find local resources for support. I published a similar book called Independent Living Support in 2017, and Kindle books for Low Vision Support for each State, 54 different Kindle books. I founded the Get Smart School and the first book is this book, "Get Smart Learn about Computers". This book was first published as a paperback and a Kindle book. The Audible book will be available by June 3, 2024, and the Large Print version by June 15, 2024, and the Braille version by July 1, 2024. Having my book available in these 5 formats is very important to me so everybody can read it. I want to publish more Get Smart books! I have worked in the micro-computer industry for 40 years, and founded Share Technology in 1988 and started volunteering to help persons with disabilities learn to use computers. In 1999, I was made a Board Member of Blind Sight which was a Not for profit corporation that provided training for persons blind and visually impaired. This position taught me a lot as the majority of the board was made up of persons who were blind; from a published author, to a director in accounting to a successful realtor. This volunteer position allowed me to be exposed and learn a lot about AT - Assistive Technology for the blind from the best. I was 28 years old and like a sponge on water, I absorbed it all. This gave me a mission and purpose which I have applied throughout my career serving the blind and visually impaired. In 1993 I created the Laptop Reader for the Blind. I founded and operate 7 companies which specialize in helping persons blind, low vision and visually impaired, and they are: Accessibility dot Net®, Inc. Large Print Calendar® Vision Helpers® Get Smart School Braille Mission Low Vision Rehab Founded Fischer Domains which builds brands based on domain name and developed website I build and sold to fund Low Vision Rehab and the Braille Mission.
