Born in Naples, Patrizia Barrera first calling was the theatre. She took part in several plays such as Il Penultimo Scalino (The Second-To-Last Step) by Samy Fayad, The Violets by George Sheadè, The Storm by Aleksandr Nikolaevic Ostrovskij, and many others. She also appeared in the movie Piccoli Fuochi by Peter Del Monte and the TV-Show Scarpe Da Tennis (Sneakers). There, she mainly performed monologues, such as some from A Streetcar Named Desire by Tennessee Williams. She was even chosen by two of the most famous Italian singers and songwriters -Teddy Reno and Rita Pavone- to join their talent show. This glowing career, however, ended due to serious health issues. But she did not surrender. Years later, fiery as ever, she came back on stage. As a singer, she ranged -successfully- from Blues to Jazz through Country. After working for 10 years as a frontwoman for numerous bands, she decided to produce and released her own music. Magic Old America, Life is Jazz, Blue Devil Blues Mind, Aria 'e Napule (Naples’ Breeze) are all cover albums. Giochi di Blues (Blues Effects), Luci e Ombre (Light And Shadow), Aria, Alba (Dawn), Natale in Blu (Xmas In Blue), Bianco Sporco Nero Candido (Dirty White Snow Black) contain previously unreleased tracks. All of them are distributed on major digital stores under RHA label. Creator of the very successful blog Magic Old America, this eclectic artist has also written several books. Robert Johnson - Son Of The Devil, Xmas Songs In Old America, Colours, and Yellow Peril - That Chink Scumbag are available in both electronic and printed form, in more languages or as audio-book. New: Anima Nera Anima Bianca: il vero volto del Blues. More information -including free materials- on her official website, patriziabarrera.com.
