I studied creative writing at the University of Victoria and worked in publishing and journalism before becoming a stay-at-home dad to my two daughters. I decided to write for children after reading hundreds of picture books aloud to them, but I never lost my desire to entertain and educate adults through fiction and nonfiction. I grew up in Washington State and moved to British Columbia after high school, where I've been ever since.
