I am Reyla Angela. I was born in Quezon City, Metro Manila in the Philippines. I migrated to America when I was 4 years old and began receiving formal education. I participated in language programs for only a short time before excelling in the English language. In a few short months, my love for learning became apparent. I wanted to publish and become an author for many years. I practice various forms of writing. I decided to bring the dream to life at thirty three. Now, I teach language acquisition to those, who walk the shoes I’ve worn myself. I enjoy the reach of learning something new from the people I encounter. Their experience brings color to my life. I believe that my life is best lived learning and advocating for what feels right and just. Wherever my heart takes me, whether it be digging under the engine of my car, uprooting gardens and composting, leading community members for NYC Pride, or authoring a book, I am called to serve.
