Richard Galli has been a litigation lawyer; Vietnam War vet; freelance Iraq War correspondent; news reporter/editor; unlicensed nursing care provider; power wheelchair fixer-upper; and sailor who swears that he has never run his little boat hard aground more than twice in one day. He has also been a writing Fellow at The MacDowell Colony. Richard has published three wildly dissimilar books: -- RESCUING JEFFREY [Algonquin Books] : A brutally frank yet sometimes lyrical memoir about hard decision-making during the first ten days of a family tragedy: "I had brought my son to life, and then I had to find a way to kill him." In Bert's first big case, his gorgeous young client Millicent Simmons wreaks vengeance on her alpha-male targets by giving them exactly what they want. Richard plans to write mostly comic stuff from now on because: "I need humor more than I need oxygen." He says he places exquisitely literary paragraphs between the plentiful smiles and chuckles.
