Robert Tarrant was born in Florida, migrating to Missouri, and finally settling in Michigan with his parents and four siblings when his Dad found work in the auto industry. After graduating from Michigan State University with a degree in Criminal Justice, Robert joined the Michigan State Police. While rising through the ranks of the MSP, Robert obtained his law degree and ultimately retired after 25 years of service with the MSP. After retirement Robert went on to hold various law enforcement related positions with a total of 35 years in law enforcement and public safety in Michigan and Florida. His law enforcement experience included special weapons and tactics, narcotics, internal affairs, and emergency management. Work and recreation have included visits to virtually every state in the continental United States, as well as Canada, Mexico, and a number of European and Asian countries. He has returned to Florida with his wife where he writes fiction with an eye toward ordinary people caught up in extraordinary circumstances. To date, his Cap’s Place Series consists of eight well received books.
