Sean O’Neil is Principal Owner and CEO of One to One Leadership, a sales and management training and recruitment company. He presents regularly on management, leadership, sales and workplace dynamics, career development and communication issues at national and regional conferences. Sean has published or been featured in the New York Times, the Wall Street Journal, Selling Power Magazine, Executive Decision Magazine, Incentive Magazine and many others. His clients include the National Basketball Association, Royal Bank of Scotland, News Corp., ADP, Shearman & Sterling LLP and First Data. Sean began his career as a social worker, and worked as a child and family therapist in the Psychiatry Department of Boston’s Children Hospital. It was there that Sean developed his keen appreciation of the power of interpersonal dynamics. Subsequently, he worked as a real estate lawyer at a large international law firm in New York City, where Sean contends he practiced more therapy than in all his years at Children’s Hospital. Sean’s “back surgery epiphany” in 2005 led him permanently away from legal practice and into partnership with his mother, Mary Ann O’Neil. When Sean joined One to One Leadership, the company had just one client. Within 18 months, Sean single-handedly grew that number to 20, and included the Royal Bank of Scotland, the National Basketball Association, Major League Soccer, and News Corporation. In that same span, One to One’s revenue tripled. In July 2009, Sean formed a ground-breaking partnership with MerchantPro Express, a national merchant services company, and has successfully recruited and trained 100 sales representatives. Never afraid to admit he needed more schooling, Sean boasts degrees from the College of the Holy Cross, Boston College Graduate School of Social Work, Duke University School of Law and Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business. Sean, his wife Erin and four children, Matt, Ryan, Julia and Olivia live in Pelham Manor, New York.
