In September of 1980, former teacher and coach Stephan Foust completed his coast-to-coast year and a half walk from Nags Head, North Carolina to Point Reyes National Seashore in California. Following a stay of several days in Sausalito, he returned home where he would begin a full-time journalism career in South Bend, Indiana. Over the next four decades, while living in five different states, he would win numerous awards for his work in television news, sports, and production. With his wife, Karen, he would also co-author two award-winning instructional/history books on rock ‘n’ roll and blues. He recently retired as the founding director of the Center for Innovation in Media at Middle Tennessee State University and a Tennessee Broadcasters and Media Editors board member. For the past 30+ years, he and his wife have lived in the Nashville, TN area. Together, they have shared many adventures and a love of all animals, especially dogs.
