Steven Kurutz has spent more than a decade as a features reporter for The New York Times, where he covers style and culture. Before joining the paper, he was a writer/editor at The Wall Street Journal and a staff writer at Details magazine. His longform essay "Fruitland," about the music of Donnie and Joe Emerson, was adapted into the feature film Dreamin’ Wild, starring Casey Affleck and Walton Goggins. He is the author of “American Flannel: How a Band of Entrepreneurs Are Bringing the Art and Business of Making Clothes Back Home” (Riverhead Books) and "Like a Rolling Stone: The Strange Life of a Tribute Band" (Random House).
