Steven Popkes' upcoming collection is Looking Up, Looking Down. Three novellas showing the cost of seeing things as they are. His most recent novel is Smilodon Country. The story of a child soldier in the post-apocalyptic Saint Louis gang the Long Bottom Boys who has a sudden and unexpected change of heart. Steven Popkes is an American Science Fiction/Fantasy writer. A Nebula Finalist, his short fiction has been collected in Year’s Best Science Fiction, Year’s Best Fantasy, and others. His most recent collection, Tom Kelley's Ghost, is available both in ebook and print form. By day, Steven Popkes is an aerospace engineer. He lives near Boston with his family and is a private pilot.
