I fell in love with writing when my seventh grade English teacher prompted me to write a short story. It was a detective tale about a retiring officer solving his last case. Struggling with the ending, I simply decided to write, “He was old…so he died.” Despite this disappointing finish, my teacher pulled me aside and encouraged me to keep writing. Her kind words have never been forgotten. Train to Alascone is my first book. As with so many authors, the idea just 'fell into my head' and got stuck there until I could get it out. I live in North Carolina with my family.
