This scientific self-help book bridges the obvious gap between science-based books written for physicians, urologists, and health care providers and easier-to-read books written for the general public. Only a smattering of the books on interstitial cystitis (IC) that are available today provide suggestions on how to implement daily life changes to help heal IC. Most, if not all, stop short of a multi-tiered approach, and very few recognize the pivotal role of the patient (or IC sufferer) in the healing journey. This book fills in the missing gaps. Tracy Alexis, PhD, is an IC, fibromyalgia, and breast cancer survivor. Her formal background and education is in Industrial/ Organizational Psychology. As her personal testament to this book, the last five years of Tracy’s life (2015-2019) have been lived totally and completely free of all IC and fibromyalgia symptoms.
