Wanjirũ Warama (Pronounced: One-g-row Wah-Rah-Mah) was born and raised on a British Colonial Farm in Kenya to peasant farmworkers with no formal education. She uses her unique experiences as a child peasant worker, her world travels to all seven continents, and as an immigrant in the United States to write biographical and historical nonfiction books that enlighten, entertain, and inspire readers to share their own stories with family, friends, and others. She has written seven books based in the United States, Kenya, and elsewhere, as well as one personal essay. She is now writing the fourth book of THE COLONIZED series, scheduled to be published at the end of 2025. Because she grew up in a world devoid of books, education is close to Ms. Warama’s heart. That’s the only way she knows that will equip a person born under a cloud of disadvantages to escape the debilitating and dehumanizing grind of poverty that she experienced in high school (the subject of the book she is writing). She is a passionate philanthropist, especially in education. She has adopted Gitũra Secondary and Gitũra Primary schools, where she helps with supplies and incidentals. Wanjirũ never saw a library until she finished high school. She, therefore, dreams of selling enough books to help build a library for the two schools where children have never seen a library. Ms. Warama is a lifetime member of the Friends of the San Diego Public Library, the Rotary Club, and the San Diego Writers and Editors Guild. She lives in California, United States. You can reach her through her website. * * *
