Wayne Faust has been a full-time comedy and music performer for over 40 years, performing in 40 states and overseas in England, Holland, Scotland, and Mexico. His music is heard all over the world. While on the road performing, he writes fiction, mostly character-driven, speculative tales. He's had over 50 short stories published in various places around the world, and ten of his stories have been performed by actors as staged reading for One Night Stand Theater in Denver. He's also had stories performed as radio dramas. He just published his first full-length novel. “Calek's Tale” is a labor of love that he wrote over several years while on the road with his show. It's a fast-paced, gripping, post apocalyptic story about an eleven year old boy named Calek, who lives in Refuge, a quaint, peaceful town on an island in the northern Great Lakes. He has a bright, shining talent to invent new things, or to put existing things together in new ways. This talent begins to run afoul of Hezekiah, the Spiritual Leader who speaks for God to the people. It's feared that Calek's talent will lead the people back to the ways of the Mainland, where a conflagration destroyed most of the world before he was born, sending The Forsaken - drooling, mindless creatures who kill and maim at will, to the shores of the island. But no Forsaken has been seen for a very long time, and Calek's talent simply will not leave him alone... “Calek's Tale is now available on Amazon from Paintbrush Press, both in Kindle and Paperback format. It's the first part of a trilogy, with other two full-length books to follow. He's also published a fast-moving and entertaining memoir called "Thirty Years Without A Real Job," which is available on his website, along with a book called "12 Parables," a collection of Christian fiction from Healthy Life Press, also available on Amazon in both Kindle and Paperback formats. And if that isn't enough creativity for one guy, he also owns and manages Picklehead Music, an online store devoted mostly to funny music.
