Ozawa Bucho is a Japanese novelist and non-fiction writer based in Tokyo who specializes in stories about high school wind bands and marching bands. A graduate of Waseda University's School of Literature, they combine their academic background with personal experience in band activities to create compelling narratives about Japan's vibrant school music culture. Their works include "The Sky, the Trumpet, and Ogura Toast" and "Ichundo! Nishihara High School Marching Band," which chronicle the passionate world of young musicians. Through extensive fieldwork across Japan, Ozawa captures the dedication, technical excellence, and emotional journeys of students in one of the world's leading wind band nations. Their non-fiction works, including "Banzai!! Our Wind Band - Never Losing to COVID," document the resilience and spirit of young musicians facing contemporary challenges. Beyond writing, Ozawa appears as a concert MC and contributes to television, radio, and newspaper coverage of music education, while also exploring new themes for both fiction and non-fiction works.
