Annie Wang(王蕤) is a Chinese-American author and journalist, currently residing in Houston, Texas. She is a highly productive writer, boasting a portfolio of 20 published books. Among these, three notable English-language novels stand out: "Lili: A Novel," published by Random House; "The People's Republic of Desire," released by Harper Collins; and "May in America," issued by China Books. She has also penned 17 books in Chinese, many of which have garnered awards and achieved bestseller status. Wang's works have been translated into several languages and have received widespread critical praise from esteemed media institutions, including The Times of London, The New York Times, The Washington Post, The Los Angeles Times, and The Economist. Annie Wang's journalism career has been equally illustrious, having worked for the Washington Post Beijing Bureau and as a contributor to Time and Fortune magazines. She has written social commentaries for CNN and NPR, and has served as editor-in-chief and publisher at several international women’s magazines in China, including Instyle, Tatler, and Lifestyle. Annie Wang's writings on culture, family, women and social justice have made her a beloved columnist in the South China Morning Post. Annie Wang earned her degree from the University of California, Berkeley. As an author, her feminist writing challenges dominant patriarchal narratives, gives voice to women’s sexuality, identity, and self-discovery, and other marginalized perspectives, and is critical of social injustice. Her two sisters 王葳 and 王菲 are also accomplished writers, and together they have been hailed as China's Bronte Sisters by China Daily.
