À propos de cet audio
The Victorians liked to be thought of as upright, strict, and full of virtue, with all feelings of passion strictly repressed. Repression however, often leads to activities, and writings about them, that are quite the opposite of what the repressors want. It is not surprising then that some of the best, and most sexually explicit books ever written, come from this era. Books like Fanny Hill, The Autobiography of a Flea, Harry and Emily, My Secret Life, and, of course, this book.
This is the story of a young Victorian girl named Laura, and her sexual awakening, at the hands of both her new lover, and her brother. All three become very close indeed, and the story chronicles a wide range of their sexual experiences and adventures.
This book is intended for adults only.
Erotic books like this often did not list the author, when first published, but editions published years later, after the author’s death, would sometimes do so, based on the author’s style, and other clues. Edward Sellon wrote many such books during this era.
Despite, or perhaps because of, its uninhibited style, this is a well-written story, with excellent character development, and like so many others of its type, it gives a fascinating look at the “other side” of Victorian society.
