À propos de cet audio

"A dark, lush retelling of the Persephone myth as only Kitty Thomas could tell it.” (Anna Zaires, New York Times best-selling author)

When Persephone was born, Zeus received a troubling prophecy. Some day his beautiful, innocent daughter would be taken captive by Hades, the dark god of the underworld. Determined to protect her, her father hid her away in the human world where she would be shielded from her fate.

Hades learned of this betrayal nine centuries ago. He’s been searching for his destined queen ever since. And when he finds her, no power on earth or below it will stop him.

He will take her. He will corrupt her. And Zeus will suffer for daring to keep her from him.

amazing

I like the way Kitty rewrites this fairytale. It’s just so wonderful!
And the narrator did a great job as well.

Amazing telling of the myth!

I adored the narrator - he was bang on for every emotion, all the changes, and all the characters!

This was a great telling of the myth, and focused on our girl, and her mate

The part about this myth that I hate is that I know the ending has a separation, balanced, but still, it is there. The ending here gives that little wink and nudge, and that made it all the much better. I think the way Zeus is portrayed when he makes an appearance was dead-on, grown up frat boy with the attention span of a hamster, not to disrespect hamsters. I mean, come'on, the man, er god, has issues, it is well documented!

But Hades, oh Hades, he was the epitome of Tall, Dark (with a capital D), and Handsome. Add a dash of danger and reverence, how could our sweet Persephone even stand a chance. Hades has no idea what to do with the emotional tug he feels for Persephone, but once he decides to ride that wave, he is unstoppable. Of course, until frat boy gets all uppity, then things really do fall apart. And this is why our girl, umm heroine, saves the day

See, her Daddy got a little too overprotective and interfered where he shouldn't have. He didn't do this for her, he did it for himself, of course. Once he restores balance, she can save the day, and once she can save the day, Hades gets to save the day with her. At the end of the story, it is about the feelings Persephone and Hades have for each other, and how they are less than selfish to keep their self in the relationship

And of course, lots of crazy and wild smexy times along the way!

weak female leads bore me

I almost quite after a few chapters. why would the goddess of spring be a weak sniveling sap of a girl. drove me nuts with all the crying and whining. at the very end she toughened up thank the gods. a very poor attempt at best, and more really a story of rape and subjugation of what should be a powerful woman. reminded me of 50 shades of grey, couldn't get through that either.
