Twenty years ago, monsters rose on earth and began a new age of civilization.
One where humans live in military-controlled, cramped and dirty cities along the coasts, and the majority of the United States is known as the Wastes. A lawless, desolate and dangerous place, teeming with monsters that have claimed the land for their own.
Including Wyn the Soul Eater.
He appears every three years, making his way across the country and slaughtering humans randomly, sucking them dry until they’re nothing but husks.
I’ve only been in the military for six months, but now I’m part of a unit tasked with trying to stop and capture him. And when I’m the only soldier out of hundreds that the Soul Eater leaves alive, I realise that something about me has intrigued him.
But what is it? What could a twenty-three-year-old guy from the south, with no one and nothing in the world, have possibly done to capture the attention of a death monster with horns, blackened fingertips and a face hidden in the dark depths of his hood?
Soul Eater is book one of Monstrous, a post-apocalyptic fantasy series featuring monsters and human men falling in love. It is a m/m love story and contains sexually explicit content and graphic depictions of torture and violence.

Amazing
I have been so excited to listen to this book. It’s one of my favorites and go to when I need a good read / escape. Michael totally nailed Danny AND Wyn. It was perfect!

Amazing! Exactly what I thought it should be
I loved this book and was nervous to listen to the audiobook. How was the narrator going to accomplish Wyn’s voice? His inhuman tenor that I imagined in my head. Well, Michael Lesley did it. His voice for Danny was genuine and perfect and for Wyn? It was incredible. Cannot wait for Edin.

Mr Leslie NEVER disappoints!
And the story is so different but similar…. It’s really good. Dialogue is terrific and the descriptions of dystopia are riveting,

Work of art
It was wonderful. The one thing that annoyed me was an exclamation during a spicy scene that sounded a bit too much like the famous “Sheeesh” heard online, that kinda broke the pace and I couldn’t stop laughing x)
The reading was emotional and the characters were brought to life gracefully with the talent of the performer. It was truly a piece of art. Thank you for your wonderful acting!

Amazing!
The world draws you in and keeps you listening!
Absolutely fantastic narration! He really brings the human and monstrous characters to life.
Incredible storytelling and interesting characters. Unpredictable and captivating!
I've listened to books 1-4 (currently available on audio) and read books 5 & 6 on eBook. I plan to buy them on audio as soon as they come out (lol I got impatient waiting for Moth to come out), since the audio brings already great books to another level!

I love Michael Lesley's voice acting in these so much! This story sold me on the entire monstrous series, I couldn't get enough. The characters, the world, the spice, all of it. stellar.

wow, just wow!
I adored this book so much, I was utterly captivated & lost in the depths of the story, the characters & the intense emotions. I will recommend this book forever lol. I can't wait to jump into the next in the series.
what an amazing audible experience too, the narrator did an awesome job, blows my mind.
obsessed would be downplaying how I feel 🤣
the spice kicks in about half way & doesn't take away from the story, & oh my goddess it's top tier, chef's kiss. 🌶️🔥
