I am incredible grateful that I stumbled upon this audiobook. For the past 2 years, I have felt isolated, often confused and lost as I navigate the role as a primary caregiver for my sister. This book has empowered me and guided me on how to be the best advocate for my sister and myself as we navigate the complex medical system. I have learned so much and am now better equipped with how/what to ask so that my sister is receiving the best possible medical care along her cancer journey. I could relate and identify with the true life experiences of patients and caregivers described in the story. For many months I felt ignored unseen and my questions about what lies ahead were not clearly answered or brushed off as irrelevant.
I will strive to “ remain gently fierce” as I go about the role as caregiver and will continue to “invite myself” to the conversation. Thank you Dr. Winemaker and Dr. Seow for writing this much needed book. I wish that every patient and caregiver could receive this book when faced with a life changing illness.

After a heavy and draining year of going nowhere, I knew that I wanted this summer to be the summer where I can just escape into some good books. On a whim, I purchased this book and it was the perfect slip out of reality! It has been a long time since I’ve read a book that tugs at your heartstrings, makes you laugh at loud and cheer for each character. I appreciated how witty and well developed the characters were and I loved following Alex and Poppy on their adventures around the world. Emily Henry truly captures the harsh (and at times hilarious) reality of what it is like for people who struggle with loneliness, traumatic past events and all the single millennials/GX’s trying to navigate dating and love in the 21st century. I cannot wait to read Henry’s next book!
