My son is special needs. The pace, the music and the characters had him magnetized as he listened.
If you are blessed to have a son, I implore you to have a listen together and let this story nurture each of you.
Yes, if you have a "baby girl" dads, listen also. That bond is so much worth it to her and you in the future. It pays off, trust me.
Life needs to be nurtured and this lovely story shows how a mortal enemy can become a friend, and it needs one to care. A care that comes from an internal drive to put aside difference and become a better human.
Better humans is what we should instill in our little ones and this story shows the best time is when we are young.
How young? As young as the day.

This wonderful short and read was suggested in a book by Robin Sharma, The Everyday Hero Manifesto.
I mentioned the size, and many will think what that would offer? Let me put it this way that a fighter would know. It is like that short upper cut left reaching your chin. The wisdom will knock your sense of being to the floor as it may have to be. When you do open your eyes, you will see things differently.
"Thought, act, habit, character, and destiny." This is a quote that many have used differently. This book really put the "destiny" part into perspective and its importance.
Be of purpose thought for what you want in life is the lesson here.
Now get thinking.

In his most provocative and practical book yet, one of the foremost thinkers of our time redefines what it means to understand the world, succeed in a profession, contribute to a fair and just society, detect nonsense, and influence others. Citing examples ranging from Hammurabi to Seneca, Antaeus the Giant to Donald Trump, Nassim Nicholas Taleb shows how the willingness to accept one's own risks is an essential attribute of heroes, saints, and flourishing people in all walks of life.

With great power...
Évalué le: 2023-07-21
We all sure have heard, "With great power comes great responsibility." It was made famous by Uncle Ben to the last couple generations. It resonates with this book for me.
I write this in the time of the film, Sound Of Freedom. (Its subject matter is the trafficking of children for the sex trade.) Some say controversial, and many say it is the time for its message. To address the "some," I often hear the bashing of the movie from those who have no, "Skin in the game" they don't have children not want them. So, as a parent, I do have skin in the game. I am also one whose children were almost harmed by a leader in the community that was captured and being a king ping in that despicable world. I have been biased now being a part of that for any movie that exposes it.
This book made it title so real to me after experiencing what I did, and now I am hyper aware of the heinous industry.
Manu will have their own experience that will allow them to understand whatever they will need to relate to this book.
What I will say is having read it, listening really, I can say it brings clarity on why it is important to gain it and be a part of owning you choices in life. It gains you authority in the subject matter. You can read or do. In doing so, you understand knowledge leads to wisdom and even discernment. Take action and apply this book for the real effect of what it means to have, Skin in the game.
(My hope is you never experience what I shared. It made sense to me to share in this review because of the time we are in and the impact of it subject matter.)

This was recommended by my new best friend Frankie Ortega and man am I glad he did.
I had been a fan of Mochael Jordan for 30 years, and there have been many reports, documentaries, articles, and many things to assess how MJ did what he had done in his career. This book has given this man great insights into what it took to be Mike, the Cleaner.
Tim explains that winning is not about just about having the higher score over your opponents but the intricacies that leads up to it.
Discipline and obedience to those who have a plan to win and deliver on the plan. It takes focus on the goal, one goal.
Get reading Relentless and find out for you and you alone what it will take to get your goal. Then start applying.

He believes that greatness is not for the elite few; that winning is a result, not a goal; and that character, not talent, is what makes a true champion. His powerful philosophy can help anyone excel at all aspects of life. Using the dramatic competition between the top contenders at the 2016 Reebok CrossFit Games® as a background, Ben explores the step-by-step process of achieving excellence and the unique set of positive character traits necessary for leveling up to world-class. The mindset and methodology that have produced some of the greatest athletes in the world's most grueling sport can work equally well for golfers, lawyers, artists, entrepreneurs - anyone who's willing to commit totally to becoming better than the best.

I never thought I would be reviewing a book based in the world of crossfit. I can say I found it intriguing how these athletes' greatest hurdles are not the physical side but the mental side.
Conquering the mind that for most humans have not been taught to do so fall to what it has had in its upbringing from birth. For most, it is being cuddled and to have other do the work of a task when you cannot.
This book tells the actions required and the focused actions to overcome whatever you have in front of you, stopping you from your maximum achievement and excellence.
I truly believe applying the lessons will help you move to the top of your mountain.
Enjoy the read and also mostly enjoy the actions in the actions you do to the top.

So many are missing out on the lessons taught in this book because of the size of it as they depend on their sense of sight. Don't judge but access. This tong book will benefit you more than any 10 times its size.
Joshua defines those who know theory and those who apply and gain experience with theory proven.
Work hard but with dedicated focus and clarity.
I highly recommend this for the high school graduate and anyone who has found themselves incomplete.

It's still the greatest book on identity.
Évalué le: 2023-06-01
I rear this book some 25 years ago. The lessons learned have kept my mind aware of the mind itself being something that is constantly in a fight or flight state. The mind is a creature of habit and can be the most difficult obstacles in life to overcome.
Dr. Maltz wrote this gem so many years ago, and his perspective is true perspective as he had worked in the industry of identity. I found it back then, not biased. It is still with the update of Matt Furey relevant.
In today's world, it is needed more than ever with the gender dysphoria epidemic sweeping the world. Say what you will, but this book shines the light that 99% of these cases are false. It is a psychological issue and not physical.
I hope folks in the medical profession can share this book for their patients first and not just to explain the concept but to make it a study for them. Their choice is not an issue to be trifled with on the emotions they go through, but why and how they came to them feeling that way. It is a lifetime choice that is no turning back.
There are so many other lessons in this book that you really should, in this case, listen to it multiple times. It will give a greater understanding of oneself. At the end of the day, it is you, and you alone, you have to live with. Be the person you are meant to be in the original form. Don't let them try to fit a triangle in a square.

By age 24, charming mob boss Michael Franzese was one of the wealthiest people on Fortune magazine’s survey. As one of the rare people who quit the mob and lived to tell about it, Franzese has a unique perspective on how business is done. And one thing he noticed was that the way he made millions per week in business inside the mob can be applied to doing business outside the mob (minus the illegal part).

Michael gave many references to the Bible. I will also say, "Even a fool can be right." I paraphrased.
We often see those who are the criminal element of society as being foolish. This time, one of them opened up to us honestly, and I believe as a redemptive act to make good on his bads. I am glad for it.
Crime doesn't pay when you can't sleep soundly at night. Live with integrity. Work hard. Study your craft. Choose others you work with that share the same values as close as possible to yours. Create loyalty by being loyal. Live your life for your family and put God first.
Great book for business and live in general.

Histoire
Animal Farm is an allegorical novella by George Orwell, first published in the UK in 1945. It is the tale of farm animals that rebel against the farmer, intending to establish a society where the animals can be equal, free, and happy. With stirring slogans, they set out to create utopia. However, the rebellion is betrayed and the farm ends up in a state worse than it was before, under the dictatorship of a pig named Napoleon. This is the setting for one of the most revealing satiric fables of all time.

Having learned of Yeonmi's life story on social media and interviews by Dr. Jordan B. Peterson, Joe Rogan, and many others now, then her new book, "While Time Remains," I knew what to expect, and still it tore my heart apart, learning other details.
I can't believe there are some who would try to tarnish her life and the reality of how some humans live with the mindset of cruelty and apply it to fellow human beings. Then I remember those who do have had pride and praise by evil beings that blunt the emotions of shame that they should feel, but the continued conditioning from that life leaves them with being so broken that they have no comprehension what they are doing is wrong, utterly wrong.
Yeonmi's words of her life between her books are consistent. She continues to grow like a beautiful flower planted in a bush of thorns that has struggled to break through with the wounds defiantly because of her persistence to tell of the disease of Socialism and the black heartened humans who embraced it wrongs.
We should never silence the voice who lived it and its scars.
Read this book and know its heartbreaking lessens to recognize the signs that have infiltrated our lives in many countries and cultures being romanticized by our youth as it is told without the whole truth that is in Yeonmi's life story. I could sense she did leave out other atrocities. Please pray for her in your own way and know that to help her plight, the best we can do is to share this with our young people.
I admit humbly I don't know if I could have survived what she went through to live. And no one should.
