Histoire
For many years, Dr. Wayne W. Dyer’s fans have wondered when he would write a memoir. Well, Wayne has finally done just that! However, he has written it in a way that only he can—with a remarkable take-home message for his longtime followers and new readers alike—and the result is an exciting new twist on the old format. Rather than a plain old memoir, Wayne has gathered together quantum-moment recollections.

Not a fan

There are good things in the book, solid examples of how thinking the right thoughts can transform a horrible situation into a positive one... however, I find the author to be inconsistent in his thoughts, judgemental of others despite claiming to have always had an open spirit, to have always been one who thinks for himself... yet he often jumps to conclusions, negative ones about things/people he barely knows.
Jumping to conclusions about random evens being “divine” or too good to be coincidences and thus assuming they are proof of how amazing the universe is, and how it’s all perfect and following some divine will, all this makes me cringe since I see nothing but leaps of logic. Just because something bad turned out to be good we’re supposed to be
Ieve it was all god’s amazing plan for us. Then what about the good things that turned bad? It’s so easy to beat this way of thinking using its own methods that it comes across as childish, forced, fake positivity, even though there may be some real value in being able to use your mind to make yourself happy regardless of how the world is... and if believing everything’s divine helps some people, I have nothing against it, I only mind when they try to convince me of their nonsense using crappy fallacies.
Yes, there’s good things in this book, but I’m cringing more often than I’d like.

One of the best audiobooks I’ve ever listened to, and certainly the best in this genre. Great story and characters as well as narration. Can’t wait for Shad’s next book.

Histoire
Tobias Kaya doesn't care about The Savior. He doesn't care that She's the ruler of the realm or that She purified the land, and he certainly doesn't care that She's of age to be married. But when competing for Her hand proves to be his last chance to save his family, he's forced to make The Savior his priority. Now Tobias is thrown into the Sovereign's Tournament with nineteen other men, and each of them is fighting - and killing - for the chance to rule at The Savior's side.

Spoilers ahead. Don’t read if you want to try the book.
I found Tobias to be very annoying. Ok, I get that he doesn’t want to be with Cassima, but he keeps repeating that over and over around a billion times, seeming to forget that by winning he also gets to live, which is kinda essential if he wants to be with this other girl. His strategy seems to be to do the bare minimum required to stay alive, which makes the whole tournament seem like a joke.
Tobias never used his brain to think about the future, about ways to win or what he could do if he was the sovereign, about the other men and the possible ways they’d kill him or he would kill them. His thoughts were all about his girl, and that soon became endlessly frustrating.
Why has nobody killed him yet? Why didn’t he even try to befriend the savior? Why didn’t the powerful men just massacre everybody from the start? I have no idea. Why didn’t Tobias want to win so that he could survive and later look for ways to cheat the system/ set himself free or reform the country. He swore over and over to protect his gf, yet when a competitor found out about their secret, he let the guy go after making threats to torture him if he talked... seriously? Tobias could be killed on the spot for far less reasons and his girlfriend too. He puts himself and her in danger for the sake of...? His humanity? Putting his girlfriend in danger to give this other guy a fair chance to kill him is his idea of humanity?
Now, about the girl... she has qualities, alright, but she never peaked my curiosity. Whenever Tobias picked her over the savior I rolled my eyes... at least the savior is someone we don’t know, at least there’s something about her to discover. The author saying how amazing he feels around his gf does nothing for me. I won’t feel amazing reading about her until she’s actually doing stuff, not just kissing and moaning and telling him about the challenges.
Speaking of, I’m beyond sick of the kissing scenes... When you see people kiss, do you politely ignore them or do you prefer to stare into their mouths? I feel like this book forced me to do the latter, no story-driving elements involved.

Histoire
Seven years ago, six-year-old Maisie Earnshaw was found facedown in a duck pond, her body mutilated. Isabel - at age 14, found covered in Maisie's blood - was convicted of murder. As Leah spends time with Isabel, she comes to know her as a young woman with a sweet, gentle nature, someone she could never see as a murderer. Leah begins to suspect members of the Fielding family of framing Isabel as a young girl, and she's not the only one. True crime blogger James Gorden thinks Isabel is innocent, too.

Histoire
The benefits of restrictive diets like paleo and keto have been touted for more than a decade, but as renowned gastroenterologist Dr. Will Bulsiewicz, or "Dr. B", illuminates in this groundbreaking audiobook, the explosion of studies on the microbiome makes it abundantly clear that elimination diets are in fact hazardous to our health. What studies clearly now show - and what Dr. B preaches with his patients - is that gut health is the key to boosting our metabolism, balancing our hormones, and taming the inflammation that causes a host of diseases.

This book brings science and tons of solid, useful advice. I look forward to implement everything I heard in my diet. I am vegan but there's so much info on plant-based eating I had no idea about. I used to improvise and hope what I was doing was right, now I've got a direction to follow that I feel confident will take my health to a new level, all while bringing new tasty stuff to the mix.

The narration is weird the first few chapters

After few WEIRD sounding chapters, his voice goes back to normal!
I overall love his narration and this book. The amount of information in this is insane and yet the narration makes all the science sound genuinely interesting throughout the book. I can't believe the amount of content in this.

Histoire
Portraying himself as a failure, the protagonist of Osamu Dazai's No Longer Human narrates a seemingly normal life, even while he feels himself incapable of understanding human beings. Oba Yozo's attempts to reconcile himself to the world around him begin in early childhood, continue through high school, where he becomes a "clown" to mask his alienation, and eventually lead to a failed suicide attempt as an adult. Without sentimentality, he records the casual cruelties of life and its fleeting moments of human connection and tenderness.

Great narrator.
The story goes in depth on mental illness and addiction. The writter seems to have very honestly poured his pain and darkness into this.
