Histoire
A paradigm-shifting book in the vein of Sapiens that brings a crucial Indigenous perspective to historical and cultural issues of history, education, money, power, and sustainability - and offers a new template for living. As an indigenous person, Tyson Yunkaporta looks at global systems from a unique perspective, one tied to the natural and spiritual world. In considering how contemporary life diverges from the pattern of creation, he raises important questions. How does this affect us? How can we do things differently?

Strong medicine for the path forward
Évalué le: 2023-06-18
Tyson’s performance reading this book adds a depth that would be hard to experience while reading. The link between the personal and the power of the story is crucial and - like the images in the enhancements - provides a WAY to see the world that embraces complexity and relationships to produce a perspective that is entwined. Absolutely essential.

Timely synthesis to reboot capitalism in service of values
Évalué le: 2021-06-27
This book contains a broad synthesis of topics both contemporary and historical threaded through the main stage experiences of the author. It is focused on the restoration of market dynamism in service of human values. The book covers topics including the climate emergency, COVID pandemic, and the global financial crisis. There are excellent sections on leadership and the future of learning. The whole thins is very accessible and a reader/listener could dip in at any topic that is of interest and be easily immersed almost immediately without reading what comes before. You will want to go back though to get the rich themes and context that deepens understanding. A critical book at a critical time.
