Histoire
Alicia Berenson’s life is seemingly perfect. A famous painter married to an in-demand fashion photographer, she lives in a grand house with big windows overlooking a park in one of London’s most desirable areas. One evening, her husband, Gabriel, returns home late from a fashion shoot, and Alicia shoots him five times in the face and then never speaks another word. Alicia’s refusal to talk, or give any kind of explanation, turns a domestic tragedy into something far grander, a mystery that captures the public imagination and casts Alicia into notoriety.

Wow wow wow

Such a well-written, well-thought out classic tale of "who dun it".
There is something "slow" about this book - not "boring" slow - but "slow" as in it pulls you in deeper and deeper until you get so wrapped up in the story that 5 hours pass and you don't even realize it.
Highly recommend this book to anyone interested in deep characterization, unique plot twists, great story telling, and intellectual writing.

I enjoyed this book.
It was heart wrenching and horrible to hear about the stories from WW1. It was interesting to learn the Cree way.
Personally I have some questions that I would like answered, I know we are supposed to use our own imaginations and come to our own conclusions but I would like to know more about Niska's final vision..

This book is so full of emotion - felt early in the first chapters.
Written with incredible detail, research and thoughtfulness.
When not listening to the story I was thinking about the individual characters.
Great story telling and the narrator does an extraordinary job.

Histoire
There exists in all of us a song waiting to be sung which is as heart-stopping and vertiginous as the peak of the cathedral. That is the meaning of this quiet city, where the spire soars into the blue, where rivers and stories weave into one another, where lives intertwine. One quiet evening in Salisbury, the peace is shattered by a serious car crash. At that moment, five lives collide - a flower seller, a schoolboy, an army wife, a security guard, a widower - all facing their own personal disasters.

I read and read and read and started listening to audio books while on Mat Leave and this is by far one of the best tales told.
Each voice to each narrator is a nice touch. Really makes you feel like you get to know the character.
This book is especially special for those who like to read about England.
